Artist spotlight: Shadowrunner & Primo - Sunrise

The artist spotlight today has a real treat: Sunrise from ShadowRunner & Primo, a fantastic, truly 80s, emotional power synth ballad.

This track is a part of an upcoming album: The Stranger where we will get the full story but the premise so far is that it’s a story of a girl and her boyfriend who has an uninvited evil visitor in his mind and it has taken him over.

We get fantastic synths, great reverbs and a very inspiring, soothing melody. This is when the vocal slides in. Primo delivers a fantastic singing performance. It really fills every part of this track.

The song is able to wake emotions on various levels - it’s almost like my mind wanted to find instant connections to other songs or feelings in the past and I quickly was back in my childhood. I mean it really took me back. If anything, this song deserves me admitting this.

The video follows the narrative. The sunrise shots are obvious and also there is a lot of nicely flown drone footage. Most of the scenes are open to interpretation as we don’t really see the nefarious, vicious mind to surface but this is still just a one part of the story which will be unfolded in The Stranger.

This is undoubtely a hit. Very professionally made and there is not a redundant sound in it. Highly recommended!
