Artist spotlight: Lazerpunk - Countach (Megahit remix)

blog-image

The artist spotlight has two special guests today. Three with the car included. The original Countach by Lazerpunk was already an instant classic but now we get a remix from my mentor Megahit with - admittedly - now more neon!

The visualizer we get is already a treat, starting with some wrinkled VHS noise. The boombox has throbbing speakers, VU-meters and just below the handle a small Countach shows the progress.

We get a power tour of 80s instruments here, including orchestral hits, supersaws, reverb rimshots, tasty plucked sqeuences and of course the infamous Countach lyrics.

This song is powerful enough to blow the roof off if played on the appropriate speakers - in fact even the original was engineered to do so. The remix does this while shattering the roof to pieces.

It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it really lives up to its promise. It delivers that kind of speed and energy what the aforementioned automotive masterpiece is meant for.

It’s available on Megahit's bandcamp and also on Lazerpunk's Countach Deluxe edition .

Highly recommended!
